Samson jR.'s 2009 NBA Mock Draft!!!!!!!

I base this off of team needs/what I feel could be best for their future....

1. Los Angeles Clippers - Blake Griffin; Almost a no brainer at this point.

2. Memphis Grizzlies - Hasheem Thabeet; I say they stick with their original plan and Live or Die with Conley at the PG, and Thabeet will solidify there starting 5. But a darkhorse could be James Harden, since OJ expressed thoughts he'd like to run the PG.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder - Ricky Rubio; As CN so eloquently stated WTF are they doing? But I feel they just want to take the guy with the most potential/upside and if they work out, Westbrooke becomes great trade bait. Otherwise the Grizz and Thunder switches players if the Grizz draft Rubio..

4. Sacramento Kings - Jonny Flynn; The Kings need a leader at PG who has all the tools to contribute right away, with some upside...they get that in Flynn, thought this may be a bit high but he could be worth it.

5. & 6. Minnesota Timberwolves - James Harden/Stephan Curry; I think this is the backcourt they are going for if Rubio doesn't fall due to contract issues with his foreign team.. Backcourt of the future to go with Love and Jefferson.

7. Golden State Warriors - Jordan Hill; This team has guards and swingmen for days, they choose Hill because he could be BPA, and another guy inside to help with put backs and rebounding.

8. New York Knicks - Tyreke Evans; With Curry likely gone they go with a hybrid guard, who can score in multiple ways.. Which fits the bill for Coach D'Antoni.

9. Toronto Raptors - DeMar DeRozan; Very athletic swing player who could attack the basket and isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands, could be a great man off the bench and future starter at SG. This pick could be Gerald Henderson too.

10. Milwaukee Bucks - Brandon Jennings; With a year out of the states some of the media I've seen on him is he has matured as a person which could go a long way in deciding between im and Jrue. I personally like Jennings better then Jrue so I feel the Bucks pick him to fill the void at PG.

11. New Jersey Nets - Terrence Williams; They've been shopping VC since he became a Net it seems, so they draft a replacement or someone who can play SF to VC's SG or visa versa.

12. Charlotte Bobcats - Gerald Henderson; They could use a big also, but with no significant big left to play along side Okafor, they draft another need, a scoring SG, who can do everything well but nothing great.

13. Indiana Pacers - DeJuan Blair; They need a banger/hustle guy who will try to clean up the glass and rebound, for their need they get BPA also.

14. Phoenix Suns - Earl Clark; Clark has all the tools to contribute and be very effective now, he needs to works on his jumper big time to stay on the Suns roster, but with his size, athletictism, and potential could turn out to be a steal. Other posible choices: Jrue Holiday and Austin Daye

15. Detroit Pistons - BJ Mullens; I guess it's no secret they want him, and I feel he'll still be available.

16. Chicago Bulls - James Johnson; Another pick thats probably not a secret, he helps the Bulls inside and outside scoring while contributing on defense downlow if needed.

17. Philadelphia 76ers - Jrue Holiday; Seems like I have him much lower then others are predicting, but the 76ers won't pass on him in my mock. He can play either the 1 or 2, which fill there need.

18. Minnesota Timberwolves - Austin Daye; Height, scoring and potential. All needs at the SF spot since Corey Brewer hasn't worked out so well, needs to put on alot of muscle much like Brewer, but has more upside.

19. Atlanta Hawks - Ty Lawson; He's moved up the draft board since the season ended and for the Hawks they have/had a scoring PG before in Bibby so they go with the more pure passing PG in Lawson. Teague is an option who I personally like better but they go with the passer.

20. Utah Jazz - Tyler Hansbrough; Could lose Boozer and need a replacement.

21. New Orleans Hornets - Wayne Ellington; Capable scorer with size at rhe 2 and a decent defensive mentality who could challenge for a starting spot right away.

22. Portland Trailblazers - Eric Maynor; Blake and Bayless are their "Point Guards" by label but Roy handles the ball alot too, so they get another PG in there to challenge their "PG's", who I think could develop nicely..

23. Sacramento Kings - Omri Casspi; With them filling one need at PG at the top of the draft they go potential in filling another need at SF. Another option Chase Budinger

24. Dallas Mavericks - Jeff Teague; With not much to choose from in this draft in terms of bigs they choose Teague. A guy who took over the game on the NCAA level definitely could be a steal this late.

25. Oklahoma City Thunder - Chase Budinger; Good scorer who could provide quality depth at SG/SF.

26. Chicago Bulls - Taj Gibson; He needs to add weight to play effectively at PF, but with them drafting a SF earlier and for now being set at the guard spots they take the last big man in the first round.

27. Memphis Grizzlies - Darren Collison; With them drafting a big man early, they pick Collison to backup Conley and possibly challenge for the starting spot.

28. Minnesota Timberwolves - Nick Calathes; Big PG who can provide great depth because of his all around game, and challenge for a starting spot in the future.

29. New York Knicks - Jodie Meeks; The Knicks took Evans with their first pick earlier this round who can play both guard positions, as for this pick they take Meeks seeing that they want to move Hughes and I could imagine D'Antoni salivating over taking a scorer like Meeks who could possibly step and play now

30. Cleveland Cavaliers - Dajuan Summers; So the Cavs added Shaq for additional offense and a better player overall down low. So they take Summers who is good both offensively and defensively with long enough arms to guard the perimeter better and at multiple position then players like Wally... I also wouldn't be surprised if they took Jermaine Taylor to give Delonte West a break but still force the issue in the lane when Lebron James is out too.
